The Phalanx Invasion
For quite sometime, Banshee
had rekindled his relationship with his daughter Theresa Cassidy (Siryn).
However, their paths crossed again with Tom Cassidy who had infected with Legacy virus. Back with the X-Men, Banshee noted
that Jubilee was having troubles fitting in. With Wolverine having left, the youngster had lost her mentor and, between their
missions, the other X-Men seemed too busy to care for the minor.
Sean was also around for Emma Frost finally awaking
from her year-long coma and learning of the death of her original students, the Hellions. Not having been a member of the
X-Men when she battled the team as the Hellfire Club's White Queen time and again, Sean managed to gain some measure of empathy
for the woman and her loss.
A couple of days later, after
returning from another trip, Banshee noticed the X-Men's suspicious behavior and found out that they had been abducted and
replaced by the Phalanx. Freeing the few non-Phalanx left in
the mansion, he had to team up with the unlikely partners of Emma Frost, Sabretooth and Jubilee to save a group of young new
mutants the Phalanx were experimenting on. Together, they tracked the youngsters to a freighter but, there, they ended up
trapped by the techno-organic creature, which had kidnapped the teenagers. One of them, Blink,
a teleporter, effectively dealt with the Phalanx but she was caught in the effect of her own power and Banshee found himself
unable to save the girl. He helplessly watched, as she cascading waves of teleportational energy seemed to cut her apart and
teleport her away. The goal of the Phalanx was to assimilate the Earth starting with mutants. After they had captured the
X-Men, the Phalanx went through the school's computer files and found a list of "new" mutant's Xavier had his eye on Synch,
Husk, Monet or M, Skin, Chamber, Penance and Blink.
During the final battle with
the Phalanx led by Harvest,
the young mutant Blink risked her self to destroy the Phalanx,
but she did not survive. They taught Clarice Ferguson died but she was able to teleport in another dimension. In the aftermath
of the battle, it was decided that Sean and Emma would share headmaster duties at the new Xavier's school in Massachusetts,
which the newly found young mutants and Jubilee would then attend. Despite the bizarre nature of the adventures that were
to come, Sean enjoyed his new role as teacher, even though there soon developed some considerable friction between him and
Emma, as none of the was happy with each other's teaching methods, not to mention that Sean still distrusted Emma, fearing
she'd misuse her telepathic powers. So, he warned her to stay out of his mind. However, slowly, they managed to develop a
grudging friendly working relationship, based on mutual respect.
Professor X invited Banshee along with Jubilee, Sabretooth and Ex-White Queen; Emma Frost
(whose brain some how became active again) set out to find and protect these young mutants. Xavier asked to organize and trained
these new mutants. Banshee and The White Queen then took the surviving young mutants to Westchester
to teach them control over their powers. They are now called Generation X. Later, they recruited Gaia, Mondo, Artie, Leech,
Ghost, and Gateway after the battle with the Reavers. Then later
came along Franklin Richards who is from the future time-line. However after some horrible
adventure Penance, Mondo and Ghost and Sunder were killed in the fight during the attacked of the Freedom Force led by Mystique
and Franklin Richard leave the team and return to his timeline to help his family the Fantastic Four.

It has been recently revealed
that Gateway is weighed down by guilt for a role he played in the destruction of another group of mutant students, the Hellions.
Recently, Gateway teleported away from the campus, having decided his time with Generation X had come to an end.
White
Queen (Emma Frost), is a mutant with various telepathic abilities.
She can read minds and project her thoughts into the minds of others. The White Queen can project psionic force bolts which
have no physical effects but which can affect a victim's mind so as to cause the victim pain or unconsciousness.
Synch (Everette Thomas), is a mutant who possesses an aura, which allows him to be "in synch"
with other super humans in his immediate vicinity, thereby gaining any powers they might possess.
Husk (Paige Guthrie), is a mutant metamorph, who is able to change her physical form by tearing off her outermost
layer of skin. Husk has been able to shift into anything that does not exceed her body mass.
Monet St. Croix (M), the combination of Claudette St. Croix
and Nicole St. Croix, mutants with the superhuman ability to fuse into a single being, known as Monet St. Croix, or M, whose
physical age equals the combination of their chronological ages.
Skin (Angelo
Espinosa), is a mutant who has between four and six feet of extra skin on his body. Skin has control over this extra skin,
and can extend the skin to grapple objects.
Chamber (Jonothan Evan), is a mutant
who is naturally composed of pure psionic energy. With the injuries he suffered when his powers manifested, Chamber has no
need to eat, drink, or breathe. It has been theorized that his body is merely an unliving shell to contain his psionic energy,
since his body currently lacks major organs, such as heart and lungs.
Blink
(Clarice Ferguson), possesses the ability to generate teleportation warps, allowing her to displace people and objects. Her
effective range is to the moon and back. Also, Blink can manifest the energy for her portals in the form of short javelins,
which cause their targets to teleport.
Gaia, telepathy, psycho-kinesis, draw
on an extra-dimensional source of matter and energy in order to create any object she can visualize
Mondo, is a mutant who is able to absorb organic matter into his body, gaining the mass, appearance, and other
properties of the matter in question.
Ghost, a Canadian mutant who can generate
energy fields that alter the molecules of nearby objects, phasing them and creating an protective aura that turns any object
within it intangible
Gateway is an Australian aborigine, possesses the superhuman
ability to create a teleportation "gateway" from one location to another. A person can thus step through such a gateway to
be transported instantly to a location many miles away.
Franklin Richards (son of Reed and Sue Richards of Fantastic Four) and
is a mutant with vast psionic powers. His abilities are so great that he can create "pocket" universes in alternate
realities.
Within
the first months in Massachusetts, Sean was attacked by Omega
Red irrationally seeking revenge for Sean's involvement into his becoming the monster he now was. Sean was comatose
and left for dead. It took the White Queen's telepathic power to hold Sean's mental energies together, while their charges
of generation hunted down the villain, Chamber eventually besting
Omega Red.

The Soulskinner
Meanwhile back at Xavier’s
mansion Jubilee receives a videophone call from Cannonball,
who wants to talk only to the senior X-Men.
In Istanbul Rusty Collins,
Zero, and Skids of the MLF (Mutant Liberation Front) steal an artifact containing an image
of Apocalypse. Stryfe is pleased to hold the artifact and he
vows to destroy Apocalypse’s past like Apocalypse had destroyed Stryfe’s future.
Elsewhere, Stryfe toys around
with the captive Jean and Scott and accuses them of having been bad parents. Later, Stryfe travels to Egypt
where he runs into the Dark Riders. He easily defeats them and then confronts Apocalypse.
Beast and Moira are unable
to stop Xavier’s techno-organic infection. X-Factor and the X-Men split up, one team hunting down the Horsemen, who
have kidnapped Scott and Jean, the other trying to find X-Force and Cable, who, as the assassin, must have a cure.
In Egypt, the Dark Riders awaken Apocalypse to tell his Horsemen attacked the X-Men.
Elsewhere, Mister Sinister exchanges the captive Jean and Scott for a canister of genetic
material. Later, he attacks Xavier‘s mansion, which is guarded only by Bishop. X-Men Blue and X-Factor track down X-Force,
and a fight starts.
The X-teams defeat the entire
MLF in Turkey, but have casualties among
their own. Boomer’s jaw is broken, and Rogue is blinded by Strobe.
At the mansion, Beast and
Moira have no idea how to save Xavier from the techno-organic virus that is ravaging his body. In Newfoundland, Cable convinces Bishop and Wolverine that he might not be responsible for
the assassination, and so they team up.
The X-teams make their way
to Stryfe’s lunar base and defeat all his minions. Meanwhile, Stryfe leaves the base with Scott and Jean to finish it.
The heroes split up to search for them, and Logan and Betsy trace them to the door they left by. Opening the seal, they find
the vacuum of space, but are able to close the hatch in time.
Cannonball, Cable, Havok and
Polaris use the spaceship to scout the lunar surface and find a mysterious tower. A force field around it allows only Havok
and Cable to pass; the others are knocked out. Stryfe welcomes his failed brother. Apocalypse wanders off and has to face
the Dark Riders, who try to kill him.
On earth Xavier wakes up,
free of the techno-organic virus; he perceives images of some of the events on the moon.
The X-Men are in the Blackbird
heading to Siberia to take Colossus home so he can explain about his older brother Mikhail’s
recent reappearance and suicide. When they arrive in Siberia, Colossus introduces his friends
to his family and they all settle in for the night. Though an agent for the government watches all that is going on and radios
in to Colonel Vazhin.
The Colonel has just sent
Omega Red into Neftelensk where Darkstar
and Father Garnoff were recently lost to a mysterious mutant
that has taken over the town. Wolverine wakes up the next morning to find Colossus already up and working in the farm fields.
Cyclops though is still asleep and having a nightmare. He wakes up and tries to go take a shower but when he finds Psylocke
is in the shower he stutters and leaves the room. Iceman walks into the kitchen for a cup of coffee as Jubilee wonders how
it must be like for Illyana to become a teenager and then transform back into a kid again.
Meanwhile back at Xavier’s
school Gambit is trying to help Rogue with her recent temporary blindness and Beast tries to discuss personal issues with
Xavier. Although the Beast gets mad and leaves the room when Storm, Warpath, and Cannonball interrupt him to tell Xavier of
their need to go to Brazil and tell Magma
and Empath about the Hellions’ have been killed.
While Omega Red and the Soulskinner battle in the town
of Neftelensk, the Blackbird is closing in. Colonel Vazhin
has talked the X-Men into helping the government super soldier program. He tells them of the two Mutant Exiles who were lost
in the town of Neftelensk and how they must stop the Skinner
before he can destroy other towns. Iceman explains to the Colonel that he personally knows both Father Garnoff and Darkstar
as Cyclops informs the team that they have arrived.
On the other end of the town
Omega Red loses his battle with the Skinner and he is manipulated to battle the X-Men. Omega Red sneaks up on the X-Man who
were examining the catatonic Darkstar and Garnoff, and he captures Jubilee. Wolverine then furiously attacks Omega Red and
Omega Red is able to take out Jubilee, Iceman, Psylocke, and Wolverine with his mutant death spoors. The Skinner takes out
Cyclops but is saddened by the pain he finds in Cyclops’ mind.
Meanwhile Colossus and Colonel
Vazhin run away though they find children in an abandoned building. Vazhin understands that they must be immune to the Skinner’s
power and he fears that his fellow Generals will decide to activate Red Flag #133. Colossus demands to know who or what he
is talking about and Vazhin explains that it is his sister Illyana and the way they will get her powers back is to put her
in a device that may either give them back or kill her!
Meanwhile in the home of Piotr
Rasputin’s parents, governmental forces break through their door and kill Nikolai and Alexandra Rasputin before kidnapping
Illyana.
In Japan, Lord Nyoirin
tells Revanche that she can only restore her honor by killing
Psylocke.
In Neftelensk the Soulskinner sends Omega Red after Colossus and Vazhin, who have just found the town’s missing children.
They hear a plane land, and Vazhin says that it is carrying Illyana. Colossus gets angry and tries to rescue his sister only
to be held back by Vazhin’s protests and Illyana’s guards. The Skinner though breaks in taking out the guards
and revealing to Colossus his parent’s murder.
Colossus blames Vazhin for
their deaths, but Vazhin tries to explain to both the Skinner and to Colossus that it was never the intention of the Flagwatch
operation to kill Piotr’s parents and he does not know what went wrong. The Soulskinner thinks that their country likes
to be expedient and they do not care who dies in their way. The Skinner then has a vision of his own daughter taunting him
about her recent death. She accuses him of not preventing her death and he loses control of all of the people under his mental
hold. The Skinner wants to end the threat he poses and activates the acceleration chamber that Illyana is in, so that she
can use her mutant power to teleport him to another dimension. Though it hurts him to see his sister in agony, Colossus realizes
how futile it is for him to fight the Skinner alone and he leaves to get help.
Free again, the X-Men attack
the Soulskinner trying to give Colossus enough time to work his plan. Colossus returns with
the town’s children and tells Psylocke to bundle their pure innocence and release it into the Soulskinner. Not wanting
to remember the innocence of his dead daughter, the Soulskinner shuts down his own mind. Colonel Vazhin then not wanting the
Skinner to ever hurt anyone again kills him with a bullet to the head. Colossus frees his sister from the acceleration chamber
and the X-Men find that Omega Red has escaped. Jubilee though wonders how the X-Men live everyday with the memories of the
pain they have all suffered.
At the Xavier Institute Rogue
is using Gambit to act like her sonar so she can fly, even though she is temporarily blind. Beast watches the two and remembers
to himself how carefree him and the other original X-Men used to be.
In the Xavier Institute, Professor
Xavier watches on a video screen the recent events of the deaths of Colossus' parents. Afterwards, Xavier asks Jubilee if
she is hurting from the recent events in Siberia. She tells him "no" and they head off to
check on Illyana who is sick from an apparent flu. Psylocke dressed very sexily, heads for the Blackbird hanger where she
finds Cyclops working on the plane. As she walks up to him, he accidentally falls, knocking her down. As he apologizes, Psylocke
passionately kisses him. Cyclops breaks the kiss and leaves the room. Passing Jean along the way, and he tells her that he
will have to miss their lunch date. As Jean watches Psylocke leave the hanger with a smile on her face she wonders whether
she is prepared for the battle where she may lose her husband. Jubilee, looking for Wolverine, finds him in the grounds outside
carving on a tree. He tenses up when he thinks he smells an intruder, only to realize it is just Psylocke, though he does
not see her.
In the mansion, Cyclops informs Xavier and Storm that he will be going to Alaska on vacation for a couple of days to see his Grandparents and relax. Xavier and Storm
try to talk him out of running from his problems, but he is resolute. After watching him leave, Jean runs to the Danger Room
to find Psylocke. Once there, she demands Psylocke to tell her if her and Cyclops are having an affair. Enraged, Psylocke
uses her psi-knife on Jean and knocks her out. Suddenly, Psylocke sees an image of her previous self who turns out surprisingly
real. The new arrival attacks Psylocke, and defeats her. When the rest of the X-Men arrive, the new arrival reveals herself
as the original Betsy Braddock, stating that the Psylocke they know is and has been an impostor.
Assassin’s Advent
As the X-Men question her
loyalty, Psylocke tries to remind her teammates that when it comes to trust she should have
earned it by now. Enraged, the British Betsy attacks Psylocke, saying that Psylocke is lying about who she is. Xavier stops
them and is then taken aside by Wolverine. Wolverine explains to Xavier that his senses tell him that both women are Betsy
Braddock, and both are not. They both agree that the only way to answer their questions is to go to Lord Nyoirin's house for
the answers.
Meanwhile, Cyclops arrives
at his grandparent's house in Alaska. There he prepares them for the truth of the recent events in
his life surrounding his wife Madelyne and his son Nathan.
In a penthouse in Tokyo, Lord Nyoirin meets with Shinobi Shaw to discuss how he can get
Clan Yashida's honor back. The X-Men use Nyoirin's absence to their advantage and sneak into his house, only to discover a
picture of Psylocke, labeled Kwannon, in Lord Nyoirin's study.
Back at Shinobi's penthouse Nyoirin has left, but receives Matsu'o as a new guest. Matsu'o explains to Shinobi that the Gamesmaster has given him permission to kill Psylocke, and Shinobi
cannot touch her.
Somewhere, as the X-Men digest
the revelation of the painting they are surprised by the Silver Samurai,
who slices the Beast's back with his sword. Brandishing his sword at the rest of the X-Men, he tells them that in order to
accomplish his goal of returning honor to the Clan Yashida; he will
have to kill them all.
Revanche (Kwannon), she is an Asian- a mutant having high level telepathy and good martial
artist.
In the state of Lord Nyoirin,
the X-Men do battle with the Silver Samurai, whom they manage to defeat. After the fight, Gambit finds a scroll behind the
torn painting of Psylocke/Kwannon they noticed earlier. It is Nyoirin's diary.
Meanwhile in Tokyo, Japan Shinobi Shaw attends a meeting
at a lounge with three of the top crime lord’s of the Jigoku crime underworld.
After the meeting, the Gamesmaster appears before Shinobi and Matsu'o and
explains to Shaw why he is giving the chance to kill Psylocke to Matsu'o and not to him.
Back at Nyoirin's estate,
the X-Men study Nyoirin's diary. Written in Japanese, Psylocke says that she cannot read it. Angered, the British Betsy uses
her Psi-blade on Psylocke to explain what the scroll said and to mind probes Psylocke to see what she recalls. Through Psylocke's
memories, the X-Men see Kwannon on a shipping dock where she finds Betsy Braddock unconscious just after she emerged from the Siege
Perilous. Kwannon tries to help Betsy but when they touch both their minds merge and the two people become one
mind in two bodies. With the memory finished, Psylocke, who feels angry about what she considers lies from Betsy, attacks
her, forcing Gambit to step in and break up the fight. Suddenly, Lord Nyoirin arrives and explains to the two female X-Men
that both of them are Kwannon and both of them are Betsy Braddock.
While all this goes on, in
Alaska Cyclops explains to his Grandparents about having to send his son to the future to save him and of his return as Stryfe. Their conversation is shortened when Mr. Milbury, one of Cyclops' Grandparent's neighbors comes over and asks for help with a fallen tree. Cyclops
goes to help him, but when he arrives at Milbury's home he finds the neighbor transformed into Mister Sinister.
In Alaska, Mister Sinister surprises
Scott and tells him of Stryfe's final revenge against Scott and Jean: the release of the Legacy Virus. As Cyclops asks Sinister
at his comment on his brothers, the Dark Riders appear and attack
the two. Sinister surprises everyone by taking out Foxbat and
showing that he could win the battle against the Dark Riders by himself.
Now having gained their respect,
Sinister orders the Riders not to kill Scott, but tells them he has said nothing about not roughing him up. After Sinister
teleports away, the Dark Riders attack Cyclops. After Cyclops holds his own in the fight, Hard Drive appears and stops the
battle. Cyclops, still angry about the Dark Riders' hand in making him send his son into the future, accuses them of starting
the very same war they are testing for. As they teleport away, Barrage
tells Cyclops they knew what they were doing.
In Japan Lord Nyoirin explains to the X-Men that Shinobi Shaw and Matsu'o are responsible
for Revanche (Kwannon) and Psylocke's merging of minds and abilities. Gambit and Beast then head off to Tokyo,
where they give Shaw a message to send to the Upstarts: the X-Men now know they exist. At the same time, Psylocke and Revanche
find Matsu'o at his house in Chosin Japan
where they are attacked by him. The two women easily defeat Matsu'o and, both using their psi-powers; have their revenge for
his manipulation.
In Xavier's mansion, he and
Wolverine discuss Wolverine's recent trip to the Savage Land and the evidence he discovered of Magneto's return.

Silent Transgressions
In the tunnels,
Jean Grey helps Archangel realize that his recent problems with his wings are no one’s fault but his own and that Apocalypse took one night away from him, so it is up to Archangel to decide what to do with the rest of this life. Callisto finds
Xavier and challenges him to a fight to the death. Surprisingly, Xavier is able to best Callisto without his powers and knocks
her unconscious.
Mikhail Rasputin teleports Xavier and Callisto to him and then opens the flood gates
that held back the East River, claiming that it is his duty to put himself, Callisto and the Morlocks out of their misery.
Iceman finds the team and together they try to reason with Mikhail, who they discover is not as mad as they all thought, but
has given up all hope for life. Colossus tries one last time to talk some sense into his brother but, fails as Mikhail uses
his powers to send the X-Men out of the tunnels and to the surface to safety. Mikhail gathers his Morlocks and Callisto, as
the East River crashes upon them and seemingly drowns them all.
Xavier makes
a speech about tolerance during a Lila Cheney's One World Harmony Concert. The X-Men are in the crowd, but it’s impossible
to keep tight security, and all of a sudden the professor is shot by Stryfe,
who is posing as Cable.
At the same
time Scott and Jean are in Westchester, discussing their relationship because Scott keeps
dreaming of Betsy. They are attacked by the Horsemen of Apocalypse including Caliban,
and Iceman and Colossus can’t prevent them being captured and teleported away. In their base in Arizona, X-Force sees the news on TV.
Apocalypse inspects
the Horsemen’s headquarters but finds them defeated by the X-Men Gold team. Since Mister Sinister had
claimed that Apocalypse has Scott and Jean, the X-Men fight him when he shows up, but surprisingly, despite his diminished
state caused by his interrupted restoration cycle, Apocalypse manages to render all of them unconscious and teleports away.
His next course of action is to find out who set him up. At Xavier’s mansion the other X-Men and X-Factor gather data
on Stryfe. It’s not much: they only know of his connection to the MLF and that he may be Cable in disguise. They let
Cannonball help bring Stryfe in, in exchange for X-Force’s information on the MLF. Wolverine and Bishop infiltrate
Department K to get their data on Stryfe, and run into Cable, who had the same idea.
Beast and Moira remove the
techno-organic bullet from Xavier’s head, even though it’s a delicate operation. In Stryfe’s base, Jean
and Scott try to escape, but find a baby strapped up in some wires. They don’t dare remove them, as it might kill him.
Stryfe tries to make them commit murder by saying he and the boy is linked; one’s death
would mean the others, too. He expects them to go through with it and murder the child, but they surrender. He then tries
to press them into doing it, but they fight back. It turns out that the baby was a fake. Jean and Scott escape and find themselves
on the lunar surface.
Meanwhile, Apocalypse makes
a deal with the X-Men and says he can cure Xavier. Aboard in Graymalkin, Bishop, Cable and Wolverine recap the events and figure out Stryfe’s location on
the moon, though they still wonder what his motives are.
At night, Beast and Archangel
sneak to the damaged Harry‘s Hideaway and start rebuilding it. While working they remember the good old days, and how
much they’ve changed. Despite all their setbacks, self-induced or brought upon them by villains, they still have the
strength to overcome. Rogue sits on top of the mansion. With her eyes injured, she barely sees a thing, as if not being allowed
to touch wasn’t enough. Gambit wants to comfort her, but Rogue pushes him away, yet he tells her that everything will
turn out fine. Xavier has temporary use of his legs as an after-effect of the T-O virus he was infected with. Jubilee takes
him roller-blading and then makes him fall in the pool; they have lots of fun, and Jubilee admits she never thought the Professor
could be a normal person behind his stiff facade. Just then, Xavier’s legs go numb again, and Jubilee carries him to
his wheelchair.
Charles Xavier
has been secluded for over three days, accessing information from all around the world. Bishop disturbs him and says he must
tender his resignation. The Professor wants nothing of it, not giving up on Bishop as easily as Bishop appears willing to
give up on the X-Men. Jean Grey is filling in for him and Cyclops, taking over a Danger Room session with Archangel, Gambit and Bishop. Over at a school called Our Mother of the Sacred Heart, Sharon Friedlander
is attacked and killed by a group of Acolytes, her last act being a desperate call for help to Charles Xavier. While receiving
some information from Detective Charlotte Jones, Charles hears the cry for
help and summons his X-Men to her location, sixty miles north of the mansion.
At the school,
Tom Corsi arrives back with a bus full of kids and senses something is wrong,
just before the Kleinstock brothers blow up the school and attack the bus. Tom manages to kill Eric Kleinstock but Carmella Unuscione attacks him. Fortunately, the
four X-Men arrive and a fight ensues. The X-Men are disgusted by the attitude of the Acolytes and even more so when they discover
that the mutant they came to find is actually a young boy with Downs Syndrome. The Acolytes attack the bus, forcing
the X-Men, along with Storm, who arrives to dowse the flames, to save to children while they make their escape. On the news
later, Senator Robert Kelly calls for the American people to wake up and see the mutant menace for what it really is.
Archangel and
Jean Grey are spending some time relaxing in his Colorado home, when they are joined by a miraculously alive again Candy Southern, the love of Warren’s life who had been murdered by his archenemy Cameron Hodge.
Jean and Warren probe Candy’s mind, reliving the moment of her death and experiencing snatches of a conversation that
seems to refer to the X-Men, as Candy is returned to life by parties unknown. Before they can learn any more, they are thrown
out of Candy’s life by a psychic alarm. In the real world, they are suddenly attacked by a horribly changed Cameron
Hodge, who hints at powerful backers having him brought back to life – him and Candy both - as their life forces are
linked. Hodge intends to sue Candy but she, apparently as inhuman as he, chooses to self-destruct, rather than help him hurt
Archangel. Her act overloads Hodge as well and he seemingly dies. With her last words, Candy
assures Warren hat she always loved him. Back at Xavier’s,
Xavier runs a brutal Danger Room sequence, testing himself physically against Quicksilver, and the X-Men watching
are unsettled by the way he seems to enjoy the violence. Xavier is clearly frustrated with his ongoing war with Magneto. And,
on a date in the West Village,
Storm makes up with Forge.
In a Containment Center in the Hammer Bay area of Genosha the Beast, Xavier
and US Agent defend themselves and their friends against an onslaught of Genoshan Magistrates ready to kill them for trespassing.
While Xavier and his crew fight on, in the streets of Hammer Bay Sersi and Exodus battle it out.
Finally Exodus is able to get the upper hand and he leaves to find his attended target. The rest of the Avengers on
the ground try and stop Sersi from chasing after him seeing how the two of them have done more damage to the city than the
riot could have even hoped to cause. Looking away from Genosha for a moment, the other Avengers stand infront of the United
Nations. The Black Widow officially resigns the Avengers from being the UN’s watchdogs,
because they want to be Avengers again.
Back in Genosha
the X-Men make their way through a public building where they come to the realization that they cannot save every human and
mutant in Genosha, thanks to the two rioting parties hatred. Below Genosha in the sewer system Quicksilver and Jean Grey search
for a way into Genosha’s capitol so the two of them can try to free Luna from Cortez’s possession. While down
they’re they run into the Scarlet Witch and Crystal who at first mistake the others for being Cortez. Just as Quicksilver (Pietro Maximoff)
and his wife Crystal begin to reconcile their differences Cortez walks out holding Luna. Shockingly before the tow sides can come to an agreement Exodus blasts through the
ceiling chiding Cortez for his cowardice.
Iceman, Rogue and Bishop prevent
an attempt on Opal Tanaka’s life. Fed up with the weirdness her lover’s life brings with it Opal dumps him. Rogue
tries to absorb one of the attacker’s memories, but her powers spring out of control as a result, until Bishop manages
to rein her in. She tells him that she learned one word: Hodge. Xavier and Storm meet Ambassador St. Croix, a member of Xavier’s
Mutant Underground, at an official function. St. Croix gives Xavier information on the government’s
actions against Magneto and explains to Storm why he risks his career for the mutant cause.
Xavier orders the reluctant Storm to steal the prototype suit used to attack Magneto. She proceeds to do so and wonders whether
she ever truly had any choice in joining Xavier’s cause or whether he mentally forced her. Afterwards, she tells him
never to make her steal again. The X-Men have to better than that.
